Iris and I went to SM yesterday after a 9-hour shift pls 3-hour overtime. Obviously, we were dead tired but just have to endure it for the sake of the weekend. We were on our way to the parking area and passed by the SM Cinema. As we were near, a guy approached us and offered us two tickets for a FREE showing of Endless Love starring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes.
Ok it wasnt that bad, at least it was free. We didnt bother to watch though. We have more important thing to attend to.

I love Abby!
So I just got home from work and I decided to browse online to look for Abby Sunderland but I ended u editing my blog instead and this is how it ended. Tsk. I miss the old layout.
Anyways, back to Abby. I have read about her from a news at the yahoo page about a teen trying to circumnavigate the world alone found in the Indian Ocean. Well, to make the long story short Abby Sunderland is a 16-year old teenager who aims to sail the world solo. The attempt, however, wasnt successful due to some mischief she encountered along the way. And most recently on June 10 when her boat, Wild Eyes, got dismanted in the Indian Ocean due to a heavy storm. Thank God, they found her the next morning courtesy of a Qantas Airbus 330 passenger jet.Its amazing how a person as young as her have such determination to pursue that goal. I made think of Alex McCandles again.

I'd have to say that her remarkable attempt is very timely on our Independence Day. It reminds us that we are free to do whatever we want and no should stop us from reaching our dreams. To know more about her you can check her official website or follow her blog which I just did! ;D

Last Summer Hurray at Talima Adventure and Water Resort
We have been planning about our last summer hurray for the past 3 weeks. It was a good timing that Talima Adventure and Water Resort just opened at Olango Island in Mactan.
We took a banca ride thru Punta Engaño Port (near Hilton Resort and Spa) and left at 8:30 and paid 50/head. It was just a short 10-minute ride going to the island.
I must say the food prices was abit more expensive (approx 30-40% more). An order of 3 pork bellies, 3 chicken barbecues and 4 pork barbecues cost us 495php and it still does not include rice and drinks. And oh it still does not include the fish, drinks and puso (rice).
We were the first batch of people who got there so we were lucky to find a good spot with shade plus we get to have those not-so-typical life vest. The entrance fee is 100php that includes the use of life vest.
Unlimited use of these will cost you 250php.
Since the sea was not-so friendly then, we decided to try the pool located on the adjacent resort (I think its of the same name) for only 100php.
After a sumptous brunch we decided to take a dip on the beach. The sea wasnt what we have expected it to be. It was low tide then so we ended up walking to get to the deep part of the sea which wasnt such a good idea at all. The seabed was muddy that everytime you take a step the water would turn blurry (err, more like that of floodwater ahaha). A friend got so unlucky that his foot ended up stuck in the seabed and tried to pull it only to see get his slipper broken. Good thing he brought another pair of footwear. So I suggest if you are to go there, aqua shoes is a must. The experience could have been better if it was high tide and coud have maximized the use of the life vest. You can barely feel the sea breeze too (probably because its facing the island of Mactan not the open sea?). We cooled ourselves with softdrinks and Thirsty shakes (also available at Talima).Left the resort at 1:30pm and docked at the port around 2pm. We were transferred from a smaller banca going to a bigger banca that had took us back to the island.
We also dropped by the newly-opened Gaisano Mall and had a late lunch at Greenwich.
Love this pic taken by Iris.

we made bawi!
Since we have wasted half of the 3 days off by just sleeping and staying at home, we decided to make up to the lost time. And proud to say that we have accomplish alot of things in just half a day:
Even saw the caretakers fed the crocs. (check my FB for the pic!)
This tortoise looks so cute that I wanna touch it. ggggrrrrr
2. A Go Kart Ride at Talisay Mini Fun Land
I'd have to say their Gokarts are way better than those in Paseo
3. A stroll at SRP where we used to hang out back in the early days.
4. I've been buggin Iris since this morning for pizza so we hit Pizza Hut's Super Pops
plus smoothie!
5. A quickstop at this new Church on the way home.
I hope that made us bawi for the day we have lost.

backpacker in Camotes Islands
We recently took the role of a backpacker last weekend in the islands of Camotes. Unlike our previous trips I havent been myself before the trip (read: must have been burned out, enrollment is on the way). I doze off at 6pm the day before the trip due to exhaustion that I only brought 2 pairs of shorts and 5 tops including the one I would be wearin' on the way (its normally double). Plus, I forgot to bring a plastic bag for our wet clothes so we ended up using a sando bag, haha! Woke up at around 3am the following day and left the house at 4am and headed to Ouano Wharf.
A view from the Ave Maria (the banca we took going to Camotes) Photo courtesy of my partner, Iris.
Yes, we have been waiting for this moment and here it is! A clear picture of the bridge. It was a dreading 3-hour trip and we got bored so we decided to look around the boat. Finally docked at Puertobello Port (in San Francisco) around 8:30 then the drivers swarmed around us asking us where we're heading.
One motorcycle managed to follow us until we decided we will head to the resort first. Took a 30-minute motorcycle ride going to Santiago Bay Resort.
The sun was scorchin hot!
We were starving by then so we decided to hit the menu for breakfast while waiting for our room. The beach was so inviting that I wanted to cancel our tour and just bum around.
Started the tour at 10 under the scorching heat of the sun not to mention the dusty road. We were able to tour the entire municipality of San Francisco and even made it to Poro and Tudela thru the causeway.
Photos from Mangodlong Rock Resort.
At Lake Danao. (Thank you to whoever invented the timer!)
I may look normal but before the photo was taken I hesitated to go inside Timubo Cave. The darkness and the thought of descending almost 20 feet below the ground freaked me out.
I'm calmer on this second cave(Bukilat Cave) and even enjoyed posing.
At Buho Rock Formation. If only I had a life vest I wont doubt jumping into the water.
I was expecting to see the sunset. ;(
Had dinner by the beach under the stars. Even saw a falling star and an airplane that I have mistaken for a falling star. Hahaha! Both stared at the star plastered against the dark night sky. And I, still trying to figure out which is the Milky Way Galaxy ( I once read that you can see it clearly on a clear moonless night) ended up staring at the sky for too long instead. Someday, I'll have my own set of binoculars.
The next day, Monday was a bit gloomy but that didnt stop us from having fun.
Haha! We either bring Piknik or Pringles on every trip
And guess what? we saw a buhawi (for some reason, I cant name it as a tornado).
