Since I started working, I have been a sucker for bargain books. From Judy Blume ( I love Summer Sisters!) to Julie Ann Peters. No wonder I don't miss going to Book Sale every now and then. Currently I am reading a memori by Valerie Zenatti entitled When I was a Soldier and guess what? I scored the book at Powerbooks for only 50pesos! Hey dont get me wrong its not another lesbian book that I used to read and buy. I started a couple of pages 2 days ago. I'm kinda delaying it because I'm into Superstar these days and I dont wanna exhaust my eyes either (still lame eh?). I am hoping this book would move me the way Into the Wild did. Which reminded me that I havent seen the movie at all! I know I better organize things. This is what happen when you have 3 planners (one from Starbucks, one I got a from a local bookstore in lieu of the Belle de Jour ive been eyeing before and my Blackberry). Anyways, will try to write a decent book review once I'm done with it. I hope I can finish this soon my weekend's booked already (Camotes with Iris).

be a Superstar!
Iris who's been an avid player of online games got me into this new online videoke game, SUPERSTAR.So you think you can only sing over the videoke on weekends? Do you sometimes wish you can sing everytime you wanted and w/o even paying for the room? Now we can! For the last 4 days we have been singing infront of the PC. The game is still in Beta version so expect a little bug on it. Currently, the game has around 30 songs ranging from Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven to Craig David's hits.
Your PC must have the following requirements to play the game:
• 8 GB of HD space
• Pentium 4 2.0Ghz2 GB• Direct X 9.0 drivers
• Windows XP or Vista
• Windows XP or Vista
In this game you can create your own avatar (take note mine's male but doesnt look like one..LOLs).You can create your own room and set a password to it in case you dont want any outsider hearing you belting those Celine Dion or Mariah Carey songs.
Here are the list of song to select from including the difficulty level and the location where you wanna sing it
As you progress through the game you'll be given tasks and missions to achieve.
The more coins your earn the more you can customize your avatar and upgrade its wardrobe.
Since players who are in the same room can hear you singing they alsocan aplaud you thru the chat box at the bottom.
So I guess I'll see you all in the lobby. Ciao! ;D

Remains of the "J"
So everybody is talking about the Jejemons. As wikipedia would have defined it: Jejemons are defined by Urban Dictionary as those "who has managed to subvert the English language to the point of incomprehensibility and online lynch squads."[1] A Jejemon is described as one of a "new breed of hipsters who have developed not only their own language and written text but also their own sub-culture and fashion. In other words they are the latest version of the Jologs. Which reminds me, of the movie of the same title. Now I'm thinking a movie would be created based on these Jejemons.
A friend from college once asked in his status update in Facebook "What is Jejemon?". I couldnt help and I answered "those who use the word 'jeje' instead of 'hehe" to connote laughter". Three years ago, I once had an acquaintance thru some old clique I founded myself. There were about 50 of us communicating thru texts. Back then no one have known that Twitter or Tumblr or Facebook existed (but hey! I had a Friendster back then. Will that count?). Then there's this one member who would send GMs to all that I can barely decipher. It felt like reading a tongue-twister. I would find myself twisting my tongue back and forth, left and right. We Filipinos follow a rule of the thumb that says "Kung ano ang sulat ay siya rin ang basa". Sometimes,I would try imitating the language when all I have to say is "Hello, how are you?" I would end up consuming the whole 160-character limit for SMS. That was back then when texting was just a way of killing time. A year or 2 had passed after college and then my brother's girlfriend would occassionally text me in jejenese But I didnt mind though as I can read it very well already. It never occured to me that jejemons would be so popular 3 years later.
Then I found this from one of my Ms. C's blog

the first automated election
I cant vote here in Cebu, but that didnt stop me from experiencing the first automated election. I accompanied Iris to CSAT (Cebu School Of Science and Tech). Left the house at 9am thinking it was just the right time but the traffic near Lahug Elem. School has already build up.
Surprising indeed to see the SSS junction and Gen. Maxilom streets almost empty--no traffic at all.
We passed by Tejero highshool as well but you can barely see the precint anymore as it was all covered with the campaign posters. It was like Sinulog with all the banderits bearing the candidates' names on it.

on mom's day
She's the place you came from, your first home, and she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you. She's your mother, your fountain of joy.

ahoy siquijor!
We just reformat our system and my partner kept our back-up hard drive somewhere else but I managed to find this collage of our last trip in Siquijor. ;D
election election
Some of my colleagues have been complaining about their sleepless days because of the noise. Blame it on the election campaign. Everywhere you can hear reinditions of Lady Gaga's Poker Face or even the Wonder Girl's Nobody nobody. Just visit Ms. C's blog only to find out that the main topic there was election. The atmosphere there was kind of angry--contrasting views, arguments. Not that I don't care at all but I just want a break/ Good thing she featured a new product though, something about Lightwater. Whoever you are voting for, I hope you think twice before you shade.
As for me, I won't be able to exercise my right to vote. Sadly, I'd still be here in Cebu on the 10th.
